Welcome to the Web 2.0 survival guide.
This site is aimed at teachers who want to use externally hosted Web 2.0 services in their class — perhaps for delivery or assessment or just as a general communication tool. However, many of the issues raised are relevant to anyone who is using web-hosting services, or who just wants to learn more about getting around the internet.
The sections relating to service considerations, legal compliance, mitigating liability and managing risk draw heavily from the University of Edinburgh’s excellent Guidelines for Using External Web 2.0 Services and JISC infoNet’s JISC risk management infokit, both of which are released under Creative Commons licences.
